The Mothership Landed at the Showbox
November 2nd, 2013 the Seattle based, self proclaimed Mutt Space-Alternative Rock band, The Mothership landed on the Showbox stage in dramatic fashion. The crew at the helm landed on a psychedelic smoke filled stage. Johndus Beckman, Paul Fraser, Ryan Thornes and Will Andrews put on a show of epic proportions. Their performance was reminiscent of the Alternative Grunge rock revolution that made Seattle a musical mecca back in the 1990s.
Performing songs off of their latest record, Ten Miles Wide The Mothership frontman Beckman threw down in dramatic fashion with an all out passionate and powerful vocal performance. Andrews and Thrones combined on the drums and bass to provide a hard hitting, heart pounding and on time rhythm that forced the Seattle rockaholics into a headbanging, fist pumping furry. Fraser, on lead guitar and backup vocals, brought the heat with a barrage facemelting guitar riffs and combined with Beckman to produce a dynamic, multi-layered vocal experience.
At the end of the set there was only one question not answered. I now know that The Mothership can throw down. I know that The Mothership is dynamic. I know they put on a great show… What I don’t know is if they are truly of this world… The Mothership, bottom line, brings it each and every time they touch down with an out of this world alternative rock experience.
